The bag in box is a flexible bag-type packaging, rectangular or square in shape, which can hold from 1.5 to 1000 litres. Due to its construction, it allows a good conservation of the fluid contained in it, having a good capacity of light protection and a good barrier to oxygen.
From its opening to its end, the fluid never comes into contact with the outside air.
It is an economical package that uses little raw material compared to a traditional plastic package. When empty, the packaging lies completely flat, allowing the transport of large quantities. When full, the volume occupied is almost equal to the product it contains, making it an easily accommodating bag. It requires less space for transportation, and takes up to 65% more product if transported by truck.
There are many solutions depending on the product to be stored. They can be completely transparent, coated with metallic film, reinforced, aseptic, etc.
Its application is very wide, namely:
- Food Industry – wine, juices, mayonnaise, olive oil, liquid egg, milk, water, etc.
- Chemical Industry – detergents.
